The rugged coast of Acadia National Park is quite unique as compared to the rest of the eastern seaboard of the United States. With its jagged rocks, sand beach and secluded coves, there is no place else like it. Though it is the fifth smallest park in the National Park System, it is among the top ten most visited in the country. It is certainly one of the most photographed and painted areas in the world.
